Call for Papers · Issue 1 (April 2027)
Revista de Ciencias de la Educación, published by the Instituto Calasanz de Ciencias de la Educación (ICCE), is now accepting submissions for Issue 1 of its new series, due out in April 2027.
What we are looking for. Work that connects real educational problems with theoretical argument and evidence, from any methodological approach — quantitative, qualitative or mixed — including replications and null results. We pay particular attention to equity, popular education and vulnerable settings. Thematic strands: learning and assessment; teacher education and professional development; equity, inclusion and the SDGs; technology and AI in education; school organisation, leadership and education policy; and subject-specific pedagogy.
Sections. Research articles, Studies and essays, Evidence-based practice, How to / Methodological notes and Student work, up to 10,000 words including references, tables and figures. Book reviews, 700 to 1,000 words.
Have you written a strong undergraduate or master’s dissertation? The Student work section is designed for final-year undergraduate projects and master’s theses that deserve a wider readership than the examining board, with a developmental review process that supports you in turning the work into a publishable article. You may co-author with your supervisor. If the work involves research with human participants, you will need ethics committee approval. If the article is accepted, you will receive an “in press” publication certificate before the issue appears.
Why publish with us. Immediate open access with no fees: publishing is free, and so is reading. You retain the rights to your work under a CC BY 4.0 licence and may disseminate it wherever you wish, with no embargo period. If you have already deposited it as a preprint, that is not a problem. Double-anonymous peer review, demanding but constructive. We publish in Spanish and in English.
How to submit. Submissions are made through this website. Register on the platform and follow the steps in the submission form. You will need two files, prepared using the journal’s templates: the anonymous manuscript, containing no information that could identify the authors, and the title page, which records authorship, the contributor roles statement following the CRediT taxonomy, funding, acknowledgements and ethics approval, and which is seen only by the editorial team. Book reviews are submitted as a single file, using their own template. The templates and the full guidelines are available in the submissions section of this website.
